Designing an Otherworldly Festival Experience for Gorillaz

Demon Dayz Festival is a live Gorillaz performance at Dreamland, Margate (United Kingdom), marking the launch of their new album, Humanz. For this project, I led the graphic design and visual identity, drawing inspiration from Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett’s vision of an apocalyptic world.

CREATIVE APPROACH

“What would look like if we entered the world of Gorillaz, trapped in a time-fractured reality leading to a joyful apocalypse?”

Taking inspiration from Damon Albarn’s and Jamie Hewlett’s vision of an apocalyptic world, I explored themes of time travel and modern hieroglyphics in a digital realm. I merged these concepts with Gorillaz’s earlier album artwork and sketches, resulting in a fragmented logotype symbolising the distortion of time and ritualistic key visuals infused with internet-inspired iconography.
