Theatre Making
Producing an Immersive Theatre Show with Over 80 Characters
Written in a fractured timescale, Karagula by Philip Ridley is a thought-provoking theatre production that delves into humanity’s relentless search for meaning, faith, and identity, examining the complexities of existence through a series of interconnected, nonlinear moments.
"When faced with an impossible challenge, one must turn to creative and unconventional solutions."
PERSONAL THOUGHTS
Karagula is an ambitious production staged at The Styx in collaboration with Soho Theatre, spanning five worlds and featuring 80 characters. Tasked with creating the designs on a limited budget, I utilised unconventional materials salvaged from building sites and old garment mills. The show was nominated for 7 Off West End Awards, and I won Best Costume Designer.
